Let There Be Light…

When you talk elegance in lighting design, the name Louis Comfort Tiffany is never far from the conversation. For more than a century, the work of the American artist has been prized by collectors of his stained glass lamps, jewellery and other creations. Paris’ Musée du Luxembourg honours the artist with a full-on exhibition with pieces culled from private collections never before displayed in public. The son of the silversmith who gave the world Tiffany & Co., Louis Comfort was a pioneer in bridging American Arts & Crafts, British classicism and French art nouveau for a signature style that was all his own. The exhibition runs until 10 January 2010 in Paris before moving to Montreal’s Musée des Beaux-Arts.
